Vietnam to Sihanoukville
The best way to get to us from Vietnam is to fly from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to Sihanoukville. At the airport you can get a mini bus for $10 to get to Sihanoukville. You can then get a Tuk Tuk to our diving centre. Tell the driver to bring you to Holiday Villa Nataya, we just across from there.
If you are visiting Phnom Penh before you dive with us you can take a taxi into Phnom Penh from the airport which costs $12 or a tuk-tuk which is $9. You can visit our Phnom Penh office to arrange all your diving before heading to Sihanoukville. We can organize a pick-up from the airport just outside Phnom Penh directly to our Dive Centre or your hotel in Sihanoukville which will take around 4 hours.
There are direct tourist buses from HCMC to Phnom Penh which can be arranged through agents or your guesthouse. There are 2 border crossings available, the Chao Doc crossing is mainly used to access Phnom Penh and the Tinh Bien crossing can be used for Phnom Penh or to access Kampot, Sihanoukville and the south. . Cambodian visas should be available at both borders.
Chao Doc crossing This Mekong River border crossing is near the Vietnamese city of Chau Doc. Cambodian visas are available at this border. You can get a bus straight through to Phnom Penh from HCMC or mini-vans leave HCMC for Chau Doc regularly all day long which are about $4 per person. Once you have gone through Vietnamese customs, you should allot about 5 hours for the trip from here to Phnom Penh.
Tinh Bien / Phnom Den crossing This border crossing in Takeo province Cambodia is about 10 km south of Chau Doc. Mini-buses etc run all day from HCMC to Chau Doc, then you take a moto-dup or taxi to Tinh Bien (around $4). Once over the border , you can arrange a taxi to Kampot which takes around 2-3 hours. Kampot is then 2-3 hours from Sihanoukville by mini-bus or taxi.
